Dan Smith, leader of Bastille, is a storyteller at heart, whose compositions are influenced by Dario Argento, David Lynch and Terrence Malick and authors like Brett Easton Ellis. With his band creates a musical tapestry interlaced with texture and experimentation. In February 2013, ahead of the release of their debut album, the band's fourth single, Pompeii, was released to huge demand, charting at number two in the UK.
